Wow.... I actually finished something I started? And I actually made something for my subscribers? And I didn't cut the song to make it shorter after I said I would edit to it?
What's wrong with me?
So, let's see.... This took me two days. I mean it's really raw so I expected it would take just one. I worked six hours straight on the first day and then three hours (also straight) on the second one. I'm really relieved to see it finished, even if I kind of rushed the ending.
And of course it's messed up... The sound volume was really good while I edited but after I rendered it Vegas just decided that each track would have a different volume. This song has two versions and I like them both so I mixed them, keeping the lines I wanted to edit with. One of them is more rock and the other is somehow an acoustic version, so if it sounds weird to you, that's why. You might recognize it from "Over the hedge", which was where I first heard it years ago, and it's been one of my favorite songs ever since.
And this is a vent… Sort of. For those of you who aren’t aware, I’ll be turning 18 this year. I’ll move from my parents’ house and go to college in a few months. I know that growing up is a part of life but I was never one who was good with dealing with changes of any kind or saying goodbye.
It’s just hard to understand that such a huge part of my life is over and now I’ll start anew. I’ll probably never see my old teachers again, I won’t be going to the school I was part of for over 12 years anymore, I won’t live in the house I’ve called a home my whole life anymore… It’s been pretty hard to deal with my emotional side lately, because I think it still hasn’t sink in that it’s over. It feels like just yesterday I was 12 and made my first video here on youtube and I wasn't even on high school, and now I’ll be going to college. Like, wow.
So I've wanted to edit with this song for years, because even if it’s sad and all it always made me feel better when I was sad. It also reminds me of very good times since Over the hedge was a movie that, being my brother's favorite, was a huge part of my childhood.
And because this video has this special meaning to me, I only used movies that meant a lot to me. Of course I didn't put all movies I loved as a kid, but each of these movies remind me of very good moments that I'll never forget, and thus they are special for me. So I'm sorry if this isn't as diverse as it could be, but that's how I felt like making it.
So, yeah. I'll be entering adulthood this year and I have to face that many things I loved are gone. But editing is something that has been with me for five years now, and it really has helped me to feel better and distract myself. Without it, I wouldn't have met such wonderful people that today I'm happy to call friends. This is dedicated to everyone who has been with me through this amazing journey called life, even when it wasn't as amazing as it could be. I love you guys!
And thanks a lot for over 5,000 subs! I really don't know what I did to deserve all of them, but your support really keeps me going. I love to edit, and to know that so many people like my work makes it even better. I'm just sorry I couldn't make anything better for the occasion, but thank you a lot!
PS: Why doesn't anyone ever edit with Robin Hood? He's bae. I used to have such a crush on him I'm not even kidding. The movie is beautiful and I think it doesn't get as much attention as it deserves. Do you know Zootopia? As in Zootopia, the movie everyone wants to watch and that is going to be a success and that Disney has really high hopes for? Well, thank Robin Hood for that movie. Yep, Robin Hood was a major inspiration for it, especially for Nick's design and character. Just saying. I wish I'd see it more on the community.
