The STIHL RMA 443 VC, RMA 448 VC and RMA 2 RV cordless lawn mowers all now feature vario drive, which means you can adjust the speed in six steps from 0 to 4.5 kilometres per hour, depending on which battery you are using, in one easy movement using the switch on the handlebar.
These new cordless mowers replace the T versions, which had single-speed drive. But the new adjustable speed means you can mow faster over large, flat areas of lawn or slow down when manoeuvring around flower beds or trees, or if you just want to mow the lawn at a more leisurely pace!
In order to guarantee the same great cut and collection you can expect from a STIHL cordless lawn mower, the motor that drives the speed of the lawnmower is independent from the motor that drives the speed of the blade. This means you’ll get a constant blade speed, resulting in a perfect cut whether you are mowing faster or slower. It also means that the drive motor can be started without starting the blade, making it easier to move the cordless lawn mower to and from the mowing area, with less effort needed from you.
These new lawn mower models still have the same great features that make these cordless lawn mowers the perfect tool to keep your lawn in check. The STIHL RMA 443 VC and RMA 448 VC are both cut and collection mowers that feature our innovative comfort handlebar, which is easy to adjust, can be completely folded over for storage and makes it simple to empty the grass catcher box.
These models also have a 55-litre polymer grass collection box, with a fill-level indicator so you know when it’s full and a clam-shell-style opening so you can quickly shake every last bit of grass out when emptying it. They have central cutting height adjustment so you can lift or lower them quickly and easily, as well as automatic eco mode and flow-optimised blades to make the battery last longer.
If you prefer to mulch your lawn instead, then the STIHL RMA 2 RV is a dedicated mulching mower with a 48 cm steel deck and front-wheel-drive. It has a foldable handlebar for easy storage and an axle-based cutting height adjustment. This cordless lawn mower can also be adjusted from 0 to 4.5 kilometre per hour and can cover an area of up to 510 square metres on a single charge using the recommended STIHL AP 300 battery.
