Introducing the new STIHL HLA 135 cordless long-reach hedge trimmer which is part of the AP System of battery tools, and has an AP battery slot as demonstrated in the video. This long reach hedge trimmer has been designed for professional users who require a powerful and versatile machine, which can be used in noise sensitive areas, such as in schools, near hospitals and domestic customer gardens.
The HLA 135 is ideal for pruning tall and wide hedges as well as trimming smaller shrubs and bushes and is our most powerful cordless long reach hedge trimmer in our range. It uses the same cutting head as its professional petrol counterparts and has a fixed length shaft with a total length of 249cm.
This long reach hedge trimmer is perfectly balanced thanks to the well-positioned battery and is relatively lightweight, making it easier to handle and reduces fatigue when working over longer periods. The reinforced magnesium head is also strong and lightweight.
Thanks to the EC motor, the blades are capable of rapid acceleration up to a range leading 4000 rpm to help you get the best cutting performance, and of course, the tool can be used in wet conditions to minimise downtime.
The 145-degree swivelling cutter bar allows you to trim the top, side and bottom of hedges easily, whilst the blade is also sharpened on both sides for efficient cutting. Additionally, the cutter blade can be folded flat for storage and to save space when transporting the tool.
The battery powered STIHL HLA 35 features a new ergonomic control handle for a simple and intuitive start-up process across the range of our most powerful STIHL AP system tools, so it’s a familiar feel between the STIHL HTA 135 pole pruner, KMA 135 R cordless KombiTool, FSA 135 brushcutters and this cordless long reach hedge trimmer.
This new handle design also ensures that the tool is comfortable to use whether right-handed or left-handed and features anti-slip protection for further safety and comfort. It also has infinitely variable speed adjustment so you can adjust the power to the task at hand, or reduce power to conserve battery life. An LED display lets you see at a glance which level the machine is set to. It also has a metal mesh air filter for long service life and optimum motor cooling.
