Stevie Ray Vaughan Style Blues guitar backing track in E major (or C#m)
Rockin' Blues backing track in the key of E major (of C# minor if you please), this is a very typical blues 12 bar rotation. It features a few chord augmentations very similar to those that SRV himself use to through in there..
When creating this track I had a choice whether to go standard tuning or half step down (Eb) tuning - since SRV use half step, for a Stevie Ray Vaughan backing track it seemed only the right choice for E flat. However, since it's using a popular I IV V (1-4-5) progression in the key of E major, it's something that a lot of blues guys used at the time, although it has the 'shuffle' feal that SRV use to apply to his rhythm playing, it really could appeal to any blues guy, SRV fan or not. With that, I decided to stick to the more common standard tuning for guitar.
Progression is E5 - A5 - E5 - B5 - A5 - E5 (B5 on the turnaround)
This was my second completed backing track, and second themed blues backing track. At the time I had the option to keep the bassline simple. A lot of the time in a backing track I think simpler ideas work best - everything else just gets in the way of any phrasing you want to do. However I recorded my 'simple' bassline, and it wasn't working for me. This track was literally screaming for a traditional walking bassline.
