A hilarious episode that executes a formulaic premise brilliantly and packs all the emotional impact one would want out of Steven Universe! Peridot's oafish actions are such a delight to watch that she has become my favorite character twice over. Lapis having a personality that is in stark contrast to Peridot's does wonders for the humor in this episode, which after Log Date 7 15 2, is probably the funniest episode of Steven Universe thus far. And yet despite the comedy, the weight behind Peridot's tape recorder getting crushed and Peridot's desperate words that followed cut deep! The transition from amusing to tense and somber was excellent.
