Stefano Ghisolfi is one of the world's most accomplished climbers, but, can he win a busy, local competition at The Climbing Hangar in Liverpool on a Saturday morning?
Stefano has ticked some of the hardest outdoor rock climbing routes, including sport routes graded 9b+ and boulder problems up to V14. He's also been a regular competitor on the international indoor circuit, taking first place in the lead climbing World Cup in 2021.

With Stefano on my team, I set out to find out whether I could take the gold medal at my local competition, the Kendal Mountain Masters.
So, Nathan, Stefano and I headed to The Climbing Hangar Sandhills to take on the thirty competition boulders, ranging from steep overhanging terrain, to technical slab.
We worked as a team - sharing a single scoresheet, which meant that every attempt we made mattered. We had one attempt each, before rotating to the next person.
At the end, we reveal whether it was possible to shortcut years of climbing strength and technique, simply by convincing Stefano Ghisolfi to join our team.
