Oyasukyo is a great spot to explore if you are anywhere near southeaster Akita (Yuzawa).

The Oyasukyo Gorge is just a few minutes from the parking lot. You basically walk down several flights of steps to the bottom, and walk along a paved path next to a beautiful river, with steam spewing out of crevices and waterfalls cascading down on both sides. It's only a few hundred meters, but beautiful enough to make it worth the trip!
And if you're there - there are two other spots nearby (not in the video) that I also recommend!
