The swappable faceplate on the Gabecube makes it possible for monstrosities like this front-mounted magnetic Steam Controller dock and charging station to take shape
It’s actually a custom design from NefariousnessWhole25 on Reddit - and while it started as a new take on the e-ink faceplate Valve showed off a while back, it’s now become something else entirely
The thing’s a magnetized faceplate with an inverted mold of the rear profile of the controller and room to route a right angle USB connector from the receiver puck to a proper port
It can stand on its own, and the puck’s held in place by pure friction - and since the whole project’s 3D printed, OP might even share the STL when it’s done
