CAI Mal Tiempo, 30" gauge. Sometimes the approaching locomotive can be felt through the ground before it is heard. This is caused by a low frequency rumble set up by the low-slung oil burner.
CAI Espartaco, 30" gauge. A centenarian built in 1895 for this mill was the oldest Cuban narrow gauge locomotive in service in 2002.
CAI Ciudad Caracas, standard gauge. The black smoke frequently seen coming from Cuban steam locomotives is caused by the bunker-oil fuel they burn, not as a result of "clag on request".
