On March 10 at approximately 5:00 a.m., graveyard deputies observed a stolen pickup truck on Canyon Rd E as it pulled into the Safeway parking lot near 116th St E. The driver initially appeared to stop for deputies but then fled northbound on Canyon Rd E. A pursuit followed and ultimately ended in the Graham area near 200th St E and Orting Kapowsin Rd after he crashed into a patrol vehicle.
The 52-year-old male suspect smelled strongly of intoxicants and was found in possession of two baggies of methamphetamine. Deputies were fortunate to get this suspect off the road before he could harm anyone. After a search warrant was served, a loaded revolver was also located inside the vehicle. Two patrol vehicles sustained moderate damage during the incident and will require repairs.
The suspect is facing several felony and misdemeanor charges, including:
• Possession of a Stolen Vehicle
• Felony Eluding
• DUI
• Assault 2nd Degree (for crashing into a patrol vehicle)
• Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance
• Driving While License Suspended 3rd Degree
• Unlawful Possession of a Firearm
