I’m going to walk you through the story of the new shooter “Starship Troopers: Ultimate Bug War!”. The cutscenes feature Casper Van Dien, the lead actor from the original 1997 “Starship Troopers” movie, and their satirical tone fits the source material perfectly. You play as a female Marine named Samantha Dietz, who heads out on all sorts of missions, some of which are even mentioned in the movie. The gameplay is similar to Helldivers 2, but as a solo variant. The missions are well-designed and fun, even if the frequent button-flipping can get a bit annoying. I would have chosen a different art style, too. In my opinion, it’s still the best Starship Troopers game to date.
