Perimeter II: New Earth, released in 2008, was unfortunately a major disappointment for players and press. The unique features of its predecessor – such as terraforming, force fields and small squads – gave way to more typical RTS elements. Two factions – one using water-based units, the other land-based units – must battle each other. However, there’s little fun to be had. The balancing is disastrous: in this game, I’ve experienced both the easiest final mission and the hardest mission of any strategy game I’ve played since 1992. It feels as though no proper QA testing was carried out. What do you think of the game?
