Season 1 Episode 21
Episode: "The Arsenal of Freedom"
The Enterprise is in orbit of the planet Minos, believed to be the last known location of the USS Drake, a starship now missing. A transmission from the apparently lifeless planet invites a party from the Enterprise to visit, to which Commander Riker leads a small team. Shortly upon their arrival however Riker is incapacitated by a cunning autonomous weapon that continues to prowl the planet's surface. Accounting for the possibility that Riker may need medical attention, Captain Picard and Beverly Crusher beam down to the planet with Lieutenant LaForge left in command of the Enterprise. The situation deteriorates when the landing party are faced with yet another series of drones stalking them whilst at the same time one is taking a good crack at the Enterprise in orbit.
The Enterprise's battle section returns to planet Minos to retrieve the away team stranded on the planet surface and to face whatever may stand in its way. As the ship settles back into orbit, we see LaForge putting into practice some of Counsellor Troi's advice.
