After the Sabre stealth fighter got particularly unfitting SFX for mav inputs that kinda ruin the style (not the first Verschlimmbesserung of this type), now the Retaliator, that huge, clunky, oldschool intimidating torpedo bomber, upped the cringe.
It's not even believable that that noise comes from the mav jets, since it sounds like directly in the cockpit, but what else could it be?
It sounds more like some cockpit system is broken.
This is yet another example of the lack of 'finesse' and less-is-more sense that bothers me frequently.
I find the mav SFX more acceptable on the Gladius because those are a bit more unique and they fit better to the other sounds. But Sabre is already very unfitting and Tali is total clash.
You always need something that underlines the vibe of a ship, its character.
