In this misadventure, Blair and his many variants go on the biggest journey of their lives yet, and that is a change of the way they’ve been doing things after so long. When things go awry, can one of them do a favor for them all?
Yes, I am going forward with phasing out the old face bases that have been in use as early as August 2, 2020 and as late as September 7, 2021. Before and after these points in time, many more face packs were made for the Blair variants over the years including an outright face remake for British Blair. As we’re now approaching the 3rd anniversary of my YouTube Channel, they’re beginning to look a little outdated and I think another revamp is needed. With that being said, it was a long journey and my method of putting faces on existing images (while they are the very legacy of my channel) isn’t exactly fit to be considered proper art. Something like a Trainz screenshot or even an original drawing could, and that’s what will happen going forward. So yeah, even though it’s a very late St Patrick’s special, it’s also the beginning of a new era for my YT, and the end of an old one that I’m sure was beloved by many especially those who did the exact same thing. However, I am going to give the Blair crew original images from now on to respect the original photographers or artists who took these photographs who may not want to see them edited over with a digital 2d face.
I will still give trains (or any vehicle honestly) faces and lively personalities as I believe there is still a charm to such a thing that is seldom appreciated nowadays because it’s often poorly executed. I will still try to keep that particular flame burning however I can, because I believe high quality sentient vehicles are not lost entirely despite many thinking otherwise. I believe that with good writing and a decent looking style, then trains of any kind can still have faces. Just probably not with real life images because there may be copyright involved, that’s all.
