Check out this fifth installment where I discuss how I wired my HO Scale layout for DCC, and eventually CTC signaling.
For wire size, type, and color, I tried to be consistent.
Main DCC bus - 14ga stranded (Red and White)
DCC Detection Section bus - 14ga stranded (Black)
Track Feeders - 20ga solid (Red, White, or Black as needed)
12v DC bus - 14ga (Yellow for positive, Blue for negative "night mode", Purple for negative accessories)
Tortoise Switch Motors - CAT5 Cable
