Having ran for a successful six seasons on the air, the medical drama ends its run with a wham reveal: That the entirety of the show may have all been made entirely within the imagination of Dr. Donald Westphall's son Tommy.
Stretching the implication further, a hypothetical theory was formed in that because St. Elsewhere featured characters from other shows as guest appearances (such as Cheers and The Bob Newhart Show), these other shows, alongside those shows' own guest appearances, were also imagined, including Cheers' appearance on Simpsons, who had a crossover and Family Guy, of which had...oh screw it, just check the Crossover Wiki and dive down into the rabbit hole of what's connected (follow the Type 1s!).
