Ship Explorer: A Virtual Experience by Oceanliner Designs recreates famous ships from yesteryear and allows us to walk their decks once again. Usually the ships will tie into a previous Oceanliner Designs episode. Ships featured in the game will have limited interiors available, usually only allowing the exterior decks to be explorable. This is the main difference between the other upcoming Oceanliner Designs game, Grand Voyage, where more interiors will be explorable with more interactivity.
The SS Morro Castle (1930-1934) was an ocean liner that, instead of traveling the usual Trans-Atlantic route, ran from New York City to Havana, Cuba. Operated by the Ward Line, the ship was favored by Americans trying to escape prohibition, as you could drink onboard and whist in Cuba. On Sept. 8, 1934 a fire would start in the writing room and soon engulf the entire ship, killing over 130 people.
