LUDINGTON -- The SS Badger completed its 71st year Sunday evening, Oct. 6, as it arrived in its home port of Ludington among strong winds and rocky waters. The ships' crew will spend the winter making necessary repairs and updates. According to Lake Michigan Carferry General Manager Sara Spore, much of the on-board updates will take place in crew quarters. Spore said much of that area has seen little updating since the ship started service in 1953.
