On Sept. 9, 2013 Michigan State Police Trooper Paul Butterfield was shot and killed during a routine traffic stop on Custer Road in Mason County, Michigan's Free Soil Township. Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole was not only a colleague of Butterfield, he was also his friend. Cole talks about the shooting on MCP's The Scoop.
