The Gateway Program's SR 167 Completion Project celebrated the groundbreaking of stage 1b, I-5 to SR 509 New Expressway, on Friday, July 8, 2022 at the Interurban Trailhead in Fife. This project builds a new 2-mile highway that will link Interstate 5 to SR 509 near the Port of Tacoma.
