Released on Warp in the final summer of the 20th Century, Maximum Priest hosts some prime Squarepusher originals but also sees his work get reworked by some equally inimitable electronic visionaries. His taste for cosmic tripped-out jazz is satisfied on the smoky moonlit You’re Going Down while Decathlon Oxide darts us back to the headier terrains of the Squarepusher sound with a zig-zagging acid workout. Autechre and Luke Vibert then don pseudonyms for remix duties and stretch the Squarepusher cosmos into brand new mutations.
