RecordCouncil | Sprocket Damaged Optical Soundtrack @RecordCouncil | Uploaded September 2021 | Updated October 2024, 12 hours ago.
You may have heard the distinct buzzing caused by this damage before on telecined prints. A misaligned soundhead that is picking up the sprocket holes themselves will emit a similar sound.
In this clip I have synchronised the sound to the soundtrack rather than the picture. In a conventional upload the audio is 21 frames ahead of the image to compensate for the physical distance between the picture aperture and sound reader on a 35mm projector.
