I don't believe the backlight issues are the cause of the AWB instability (red/blue flashes on scans) I think this is inherent in the Raspberry Pi camera handling code.

Looks like faulty lab print, white flashes and spotting, possibly the reason this section was removed from the film. Im fairly sure this has always been there and is not age related degradation. There are also odd colour shifts towards the end of the clip, I think this is actually also on the film and not a scanner white balance issue.")

Did this mostly as a test of the JPEG capture mode for the scanner which reduces the frame size from around 17MB per frame to approximately 5 with no huge loss of quality when exported to 2160p video.
The soundtrack on this partial fragment was horrible the waveform wanders wildly left and right, Im thinking its a malfunction. I will set a frame with this visible as the thumbnail.")
