これは1976年（昭和51年）のトヨタ・スプリンター・リフトバックのCMソングとして使われた曲です。そのCMには当時人気があったアグネス・ラムさんと近藤正臣さんが起用され、その爽やかな映像が印象的でした。ゴダイゴといえばガンダーラやビューティフルネームなどが有名ですが、僕はゴダイゴの曲ではこの曲が一番好きです。こんな爽やかで素敵なメロディーをあの当時に書いていたタケカワさんは本当に凄い才能の持ち主だと思います。これはヘタクソな僕のカバーですがよかったら聴いて下さい。

ところで、この曲はTraveling On A Sundeckという曲名の別バージョンがあったり、イギリスのSplinterというミュージシャンによってカバーされたSun Shine On Meというバージョンもあります。
このグループ名もスペルは違いますが、なぜか「スプリンター」なのです。不思議です。。。
ちなみにこのグループは、ジョージ・ハリスンが作った「ダークホース」というレーベルから売られていたミュージシャンでした。
