Tropical Plant Party | Spraying Palms With Wilt Stop || Repotting a Gardenia & Office Remodel Progress || Saturday Vlog @TropicalPlantParty | Uploaded February 2023 | Updated October 2024, 23 hours ago.
Got a lot of random stuff crammed into one video this week. For Starters I moved the large windmill palm inside because of a single digit night that moved in. This may or may not have been the best thing for the palm. Moving palm when they are frozen is risky. Since it warmed up I used the nice weather to do some winter garden chores. The one I focused on for the video was spraying the palms with wilt stop. I like to coat my palms and evergreens with a product monthly to help reduce water loss from dry winds and frozen roots. In theory it may add a few extra degrees of protection for cold hardy palms as well. Later I went out to the growspace and gave updates on the houseplants and tropical plants. The spider mite predators seem to be working well and maybe the mealybug destroyers are doing something. It's hard to tell at this point. Finally I repotted a Steady as She Goes Gardenia from Proven Winners into a beautiful new pot and talked about repotting gardenias. Lastly I gave a very quick update on the office remodel to show the new baseboards and crown molding.
