There are significant gaps across the climate, peacebuilding, humanitarian and development frameworks. In order to more systematically advance integrated responses that yield synergies across climate adaptation, disaster risk reduction, peacebuilding and sustainable development, we are seeing timely and pertinent new multilateral initiatives. CCCPA has proposed a COP 27 initiative titled “Climate Responses for Sustaining Peace” (CRSP) and Germany launched the Climate for Peace initiative at this BCSC. This session served to highlight these important initiatives and discuss how synergies can be harnessed and partnerships catalysed to to achieve their common goal of sustaining peace in the face of climate change.
