In which I talk about the Norn Queen / Splicer Beast. Is the Norn Queen sentient? How does the Norn Queen work? Genetic sorting and finding "fitness." Why are Hive Fleets different?
I talk about a lot of these things in a meandering manner while playing Unification Mod badly. I think about Tyranids too much, and if you do too, you will enjoy me talking about how I imagine the Norn Queen works.
Lexicanum is generally viewed as more credible than the 40K wiki, as it generally omits homebrewed information. It lists Tyranid Codices (codexes?) 2nd, 3rd, and fourth edition as sources, as well as White Dwarf 146 UK, Advanced Space Crusade (board game) and Space Fleet (Game) as sources on Norn Queens/Splicer-Beasts.

Nothing can stop the ravenous appetite of the Great Devourer. CBFB attempted to be tricksy with his webway gates, but some Lictors and then feeding tendrils revealed his numerous encampments.
AAR - Once I realized he was moving about, I should have dropped a Tyranicus Brood Spire in the middle to reload my Ravenors for more mobility with deepstriking.

The Orbital Airburst and Gatling Barrage are both useful and have low cooldowns. Use these stratagems to fill gaps in your loadout and destroy enemies at chokepoints.
The gatling barrage is lower cooldown and higher armor penetration, but the damage is not consistent across the AoE. The Airburst has a much more consistent dispersal of ordnance, but has a lower armor penetration, making it better at clearing smaller enemies, but still able to damage exposed weak points.
The Gatling barrages length makes it work well against bug breaches, while the Airbursts spike damage works against the relatively more compressed deployment from a bot drop. EDIT - and likely Illuminate once the Warp Ship leaves!
