Ladies and gentlemen, the long-anticipated Splatoon spinoff is finally here! As such, Diablo 2 will be taking a back seat for a while as I check it out! Welcome to Splatoon Raiders!
Splatoon Raiders is a single-player campaign-centered spinoff of the Splatoon franchise, though friends can play together cooperatively as well. You play as The Mechanic, an inkling/octoling tagging along with Deep Cut on a journey as their helicopter crash lands onto the Spirhalite Islands, home to a culture of Salmonids as you loot their treasure! It's basically Salmon Run in campaign form!
At the same time I'm doing this solo playthrough, I will also be doing a co-op playthrough with @GamesPerJustin and a couple of our mutual friends. You can find that playthrough (complete with voice commentary) here: youtube.com/watch?v=q1BbM87GLys&list=PLcaa-NglGs5c
In Part 3 of my solo playthrough, the game introduces a new type of salmonid: the Seasoned Salmonid, which are bigger, tougher, and saltier versions of Boss Salmonids which serve as the minibosses of the Ancient Ruins dungeons.
