This is a song about how hard it is to communicate and come across properly. Despite recently moving to a country where Im still learning the language, this is broader than that! Even when you speak the same language, your experiences and thoughts will shape how you express yourself in very different ways. You have to figure out what you want to say, how to say it, conveying it in a way that will be understood by the other party and they also have to do the same, over and over... when you think about it, its a miracle we can understand each other even putting in the effort. I like to think that humans crave community and connection so much that all the pain seems worth it.
Most of the lyrics are a cipher, albeit a very easy one in my opinion; however, once you manage to get to the real words, they might be in a language you dont understand to begin with. I hope youll try deciphering it nonetheless: communication takes effort, after all.

Feel free to send me your attempts at zatounucoa@crescendotto.com! In case you solve the first step of the cipher and realize youd need help to get to the lyrics in a language you understand, Ill gladly send you a cipher of the translation. Its only fair, after youve learnt my language.
Many thanks to Racne for providing the illustration! I made a custom font for the video and wanted to draw for it as well, but she offered a hand and I ended up putting in more effort in the animation in return. In a way, me with music and she with drawing, we ended up trying to understand each others language.

I fell in love with this BGM as soon as I heard it! It gets some pretty nice exposure during Akiras flashback in episode 19, hence the temporary name. VRAINS might be having budget issues but both its world and its music are really growing on me... I really hope a Sound Duel will be released soon!
