By far the most spectacular lens at NAB 2025 was on display at the DZO-Film stand. Behind the somewhat complicated name “X-Tract Probe Zoom Periscope 360°” is a periscope lens from DZO-Film's popular X-Tract series.
Currently, there seems to be only one other periscope design in the world - from Panavision - which is therefore not available for purchase, but can only be rented. This makes the DZO Film Periscope the only lens available for purchase, which is designed as an 18-28mm F8 macro zoom and, in our opinion, has been very cleverly designed.
A total of four motors can be attached to the X-Tract Probe Zoom Periscope 360° to remotely control zoom and exposure parameters as well as rotation if required. This opens up an enormous variety of creative applications, especially as the tip of the periscope is also waterproof. We are very much looking forward to testing the new DZO-Film optics ourselves and exploring its potential. Hopefully more on this soon on slashCam ...
