We can't specifically speak about an outright ban of lootboxes in Spain. But it's official, a bill has been introduced that heavily restricts the access to lootboxes.
Any game with lootboxes will have to require national ID verification to access and promotion of games with lootboxes in them will be limited to midnight hours.
In short, if the response of most publishers that intend on having a gacha system in countries such as Belgium and the Netherlands is anything to go by... there's a chance some games just won't release in Spain from now on.
The real question is; how many more countries need to restrict these lootboxes / gacha before companies start to realize this is a losing battle for them, and look at other methods of monetization.
