If you've followed me for a while on my main channel, or if you've seen me talk on Discord, I have mentioned that I used to use some music making apps on iPad before making chiptunes in 2016. I used to be afraid to share these songs because I thought many folks would say they were terrible. However, I look back at these tunes now as a way of how far I have come since making this my hobby in 2014 (that was 9 years prior to the upload of this video, wow!). All these tunes are dated between 2014 and 2017 (now that I think about it, calling this era my "pre-chiptune era" is kind of a misnomer, since I still used music making apps on iPad through 2016, though I did abandon them by the end of 2017. But, I digress). The apps I used during these times were Auxy (both the classic and current version), Beatwave, Music Maker JAM, and Medly Music Maker.
Some things to point out: As far as I know, Music Maker JAM relies on pre-recorded loops for users to make music, so some of the songs might trigger YouTube's content match (I don't monetize both my channels anyway). Some songs were recorded recently, directly from my iPad while also playing them live to either recall what I wanted to do with them, make sense of what I put, or record versions of songs I never did. A few of these songs were previously uploaded to my main channel. Some song names make sense, while some I had pulled out of my head randomly (though I did change a few song names to make a bit more sense), and others were generated through Beatwave's gimmick of randomly giving your new song a name.
This is part 1. I had to split this into three parts mainly due to reaching the maximum length for the characters in the YouTube description.
