The biggest problem the space industry is facing right now is getting humans back to the Moon. Considering that people already stepped on the moon surface more than five decades ago, it doesn’t make sense to many how we somehow lost that ability. This confusion has even led some to believe the Moon landing was fake. But experts explain it differently — they say it’s similar to how ancient Egyptians built the pyramids. At one point, humans had the knowledge, tools, and motivation to do it, but over time, those priorities changed, and now we can’t easily replicate what they accomplished.
In the 1960s, the United States and the Soviet Union were locked in a fierce space race, spending unimaginable amounts of money to outdo each other. Every few months, a new milestone was achieved — satellites, spacewalks, lunar orbits, and eventually, Neil Armstrong’s “one small step.” But when the Cold War ended, so did that relentless drive. Budgets shrank, focus shifted, and for decades, no one seriously tried to return.
It’s only in the last few years that space agencies and private companies have reignited their interest in the Moon. NASA, China, Russia, and others have all made attempts — yet so far, every human-return mission has either been delayed, canceled, or failed. The Moon still waits.
But among all these players, only one company seems to have a clear and achievable plan — SpaceX.
