A cosmic phenomenon located 7,500 light-years from Earth has been likened to a giant treasure chest in a stunning new image captured by the James Webb Space Telescope.
The image shows part of the Carina Nebula, a vast star-forming region in the Milky Way, where a cloud formation known as the “Treasure Chest” appears to resemble an open chest filled not with gold, but with a compact cluster of young stars.
Scientists say the region offers a unique glimpse into how stars are born and evolve, with some of the youngest stars still hidden within dense clouds of dust.
