Osamu Tezuka's 1980 film _Firebird 2772: Love's Cosmozone_ (火の鳥2772 愛のコスモゾーン) was dubbed into English (via Hong Kong's Ted Thomas) for Toho International and titled "Space Firebird". In 1986, it was one of nine anime features acquired by American National Enterprises for U.S. distribution. ANE was purchased by Peregrine Entertainment, Ltd., whose Peregrine Film Distribution would subsequently package these nine films (and Jean Image's 1970 "Aladdin and His Magic Lamp") as DYNAMAGIC for television syndication beginning in 1987. That same year, upstart Celebrity Home Entertainment released the nine anime on home video in its "Just for Kids" line.
