In this video filmed with Warrior Collective, Muay Thai champion and renowned coach Jompop Kiatphontip shares his vast experience and insights when it comes to training as a Southpaw fighter on the bags.
Head coach of the highly respected Kiatphontip Gym in Leeds, Jompop brings decades of elite Muay Thai experience to his coaching. Originally from Phatthalung in southern Thailand, he began fighting at just nine years old and went on to build a remarkable professional career with over 160 fights and more than 130 victories.
During his career in Thailand, Jompop competed at the highest level of the sport and was ranked No.1 at Rajadamnern Stadium, one of Muay Thai’s most prestigious arenas.
Today he is widely respected as one of the UK’s leading Muay Thai coaches, helping develop fighters at his Leeds-based Kiatphontip Gym, which has produced numerous British, European, and world-level competitors.
In this video Jompop demonstrates a large number of practical heavy bag combinations and striking drills that southpaw fighters can incorporate into their training sessions.
