Though South Korea's economy is seeing recovery amid strong exports, the government has announced measures to enhance weak domestic demand.
During an economic ministerial meeting on Wednesday, South Korea's finance minister said the government will release reserves of cabbage and extend tariff quotas for certain products, including some imported fruit, as part of efforts to stabilize prices.
For electric vehicles, which saw a decrease in demand, he pledged to implement additional measures including early implementation of the battery certification system and the expansion of corporate liability insurance.
He also announced plans to expand subsidies for households with multiple children who wish to purchase EVs.
