The pedal features a balanced input via combined TRS/XLR socket, vintage germanium transistor circuitry with original Grampian specification Mic transformer, overload lamp, input impedance switch, output 3-way attenuator switch and on/off toggle footswitch. Staying true to the original design, the output is unbalanced on a ¼ jack socket and is out of phase.

“We never messed with [effects] really. It would be way down the line that I got a pedalboard. The only pedal I used was the Space Echo, and I had this on/off switch to kick the delay in. And that was it.
Space Echo was a big part of the sound. We would go into the front of the Space Echo, and just turned the the preamp up full.”

Phil and I were working on some demo clips of the Soundgas Type G pedal in the studio yesterday when this happened - Les Paul into Fender amp (low volume/clean setting), touch of Boss DD-3.
The Type G combines our experience modding Roland Space Echo preamps and the germanium Grampian 636 so perhaps unsurprising that it excels at driven rock tones.
