Was meant to be going some ‘proper’ demoing of the Soundgas Type 636P2 this afternoon and got totally sidetracked when I decided to use the Weaver to set it up.
Ended up being today’s demo. Driving the Weaver with P2 on max gain and using Weaver’s volume pot to control the amount of texture.
Too much fun.
Weavers are sold out (again) so you’ll have to be on the Soundgas mailing list to catch the October drop (and I’m very excited to see what Hugh is going to bring to Machina Bristronica at the end of the month).
We have a Soundgas Type 636P2 nearing completion so if you want one, now’s the time!

“We never messed with [effects] really. It would be way down the line that I got a pedalboard. The only pedal I used was the Space Echo, and I had this on/off switch to kick the delay in. And that was it.
Space Echo was a big part of the sound. We would go into the front of the Space Echo, and just turned the the preamp up full.”

Phil and I were working on some demo clips of the Soundgas Type G pedal in the studio yesterday when this happened - Les Paul into Fender amp (low volume/clean setting), touch of Boss DD-3.
The Type G combines our experience modding Roland Space Echo preamps and the germanium Grampian 636 so perhaps unsurprising that it excels at driven rock tones.
This is just the raw the iPhone recording (not the amp mics) - phone mounted horizontally over the pedalboard...
