A very nice and cute little tape recorder! A classic ol' Sony, using a gear-drive system as opposed to idlers or belts.

All the electrolytics were replaced.

AC bias. Permanent magnet erase.
Freq response 80Hz to 10kHz at 3 3/4 IPS.
Manual level control.

Recorder uses 4 transistors (3 for the audio amplification, 1 for the bias oscillator).

External amplifier "docking station" uses three transistors (one as the driver, and two for push-pull output).

The instant stop pause button had to be replaced. The shiny metal part and its spring were missing when I got the recorder, but the plastic endpiece that would have been on the rear of the metal piece for the instant stopper was in the recorder. Turning that around and using it as a button, with a retaining screw on the other side, fixed the instant stop pause function.

Music used is not by me!!

For 1 7/8 IPS I played Cusco - Inca Dance.

For 3 3/4 IPS I played Idee du Femelle - Crystalline.

Beautiful music in my opinion.
