Sony India sent me a legal notice for ₹5 crore. Delete the video, delete the posts, delete the website, and apologise within seven days.
Here is my apology. Sorry Bravia.
The story so far: my ₹1,50,031 BRAVIA K-55XR70 failed in month 22 of Sony's own three-year warranty. No dent, no crack, no scratch. A technician photographed the screen, sent the photos on WhatsApp to someone I never met, and Sony called it "external damage" with a bill of ₹29,130. For two months I asked one question: show me the technical proof. Sony sent three copy-pasted letters, closed my case saying I "had not confirmed", and then sent a lawyer.
My consumer complaint is filed and pending. I am not taking anything down.
My offer to Sony is the same as day one: show me the evidence and I will publish it, unedited, in the same place.
What the notice demands, what it leaves out, and where I stand: sonybravia.com/legal-notice
The full case, every email and every date: sonybravia.com
If Sony denied your warranty the same way, comment below or write to we-sucks@sonybravia.com. Your case belongs on that record too.
Disclaimer: This is one owner's account of one television, based on my own correspondence with Sony, its service records and photographs taken in my home. Sorry Bravia (sonybravia.com) is an independent consumer site and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Sony. Nothing here is a criticism of the technician who attended; the decision to refuse the warranty, and the evidence for it, are Sony's. Corrections published on request.
