Bungie announces "a reduction in force"
"Following our final content update to Destiny 2, and with our future projects still in early incubation, we unfortunately could not continue operating at our previous size." Yeah there’s this idea that they’re going to “turn Marathon into Destiny” which is essentially impossible. I think PvE aspects could be cool, but we’re talking about the equivalent of like, a seasonal activity. Not an insult, it just is never gonna fill the hole A "significant" number of layoffs have hit Bungie, including most of the Destiny team and some Marathon devs, says SIE CEO Hermen Hulst:
"Over the past several months, together with Bungie leadership, we reviewed the studio's long-term direction, development priorities, resource needs, and role within our broader portfolio strategy. We explored multiple alternatives before concluding that a reduction was necessary to align the studio's resources with its current priorities and long-term goals" "most of the Destiny team" is impacted...
I don't know how there could be a future for Destiny when the people who know how to make a Destiny game are being kicked to the curb.
Terrible stuff. “most of the Destiny team” are being impacted by today’s layoffs at Bungie, according to an internal memo from Sony’s PlayStation studio chief Herman Hulst. “Some Marathon team members” are also being cut, as well as “reductions across SIE teams that support Bungie’s operations.”

Xbox Chief Strategy Officer Matthew Ball says Xbox Game Pass lost millions of subscribers after the price hike in October
He also said players can expect a reliable pipeline of exclusives going forward Xbox is exploring the idea of adding ads to games to “keep our products” affordable, Xbox’s Chief Strategy Officer says
[via The Game Business] Xbox is floating the idea of in-game ads, noting that may have potential to keep our products affordable.
Goal is to ensure they can continue to fund outstanding work from dev teams Xbox is juggling the idea of in-game ads — with rising costs, ads have potential to keep their products “affordable”
The goal would be to help Xbox continue to fund “outstanding” work from their development teams
(via: The Game Business) Xbox is fixable, says Chief Strategy Officer Matthew Ball in new interview:
▪️Will invest more in its big IP, cut back on niche productions
▪️Xbox can improve - how hard it will be or how long it will take are different questions
▪️Its difficult to articulate why someone should buy an Xbox, exclusives help with that
▪️Xbox presence smaller in EU/Japan, PC is the most popular, Windows is where the world plays, so we encourage players to do so in those markets
▪️Working hard to rethink Helix, make things more affordable, new business models
▪️Console is growing, not dying. No desire to move away from console XBOX IS ADDING ADS TO GAMING! The TRUE Death of Xbox...](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/UUG1Ou5u53s/mqdefault.jpg)

Forza Horizon 6 is a 2026 racing game developed by Playground Games and published by Xbox Game Studios. It is the sixth Forza Horizon title, following Forza Horizon 5, and the fourteenth main instalment in the Forza franchise. Set in a fictionalised representation of Japan, it features a stylised version of Tokyo as the game worlds main city. It is scheduled to be released on 19 May 2026 for players with Standard or Deluxe editions, and was released on 15 May 2026 for players who purchased the Premium edition. It will release for Windows and Xbox Series X/S, with a release for PlayStation 5 later that year. Forza Horizon 6 is a racing game set in Japan. The games open world map is the franchises largest and the Tokyo City area is considered to be its most complex and intricate drivable space, being five times larger than any other Horizon city, namely Forza Horizon 4s Edinburgh.[1] Similar to Forza Horizon 4 and 5, the game features a dynamic weather system that reflects seasonal changes.[2] Players begin as a tourist and must work their way up to qualify for the Horizon Festival, eventually rising through its ranks. The wristband progression system from previous entries, specifically the original Forza Horizon, returns. Players earn wristbands by completing races and events, unlocking better and faster cars along the way. Reaching the gold wristband grants access to Legend Island, a special area featuring unique challenges and exclusive races.[3] Playground has addressed nearly every point of feedback coming off of Forza Horizon 4 and 5. The long awaited Japan setting exceeds expectations, with a gorgeous open world packed with things to do and vistas to see.
Tokyo City is massive, and feels incredible to drive through, especially during those Street Races at night. The story actually feels like a real story, as you work your way up from an unknown driver to a Horizon Legend.
If youre a Forza Horizon fan, this is a day one no question. And the great thing about this series - you dont have to know a thing about cars to have a good time. Forza Horizon 6 makes that easy.
The game will launch with over 550 cars, all of which can be extensively customised. Players can store unlocked vehicles in one of eight garages which also serve as fast travel points. Additionally, players can unlock the Estate, a customisable mountainside property in rural Japan which can be decorated with various items and objects.[4] As players explore the open world, they can join events such as car meets where vehicle customisations can be shared with others, street racing, and touge battles. Players can also photograph points of interest, with these shots stored as stamps in a Collection Journal.[5] The Eliminator battle royale game mode will again be available.
