Audio Technica ATR3350 xis is maybe the best vlogging microphone 2019 if you want a portable vlogging rig. I am now testing it with the Sony RX100 VII that has an microphone jack for external microphone.

The reason that I'm using the Audio Technica ATR3350 xis lavalier is that it doesn't require a hot/cold shoe which the Sony RX100 VII doesn't have. A shotgun microphone needs a bracket, but a lavalier can be mounted direct to your collar.

I test it in different situations. In a quiet and peaceful outdoor place, in a busy and noisy place outdoors and a public place indoors.
