In this review I'm comparing the audio quality compare to my Sony a6400 internal microphone to test how big the difference in sound quality is. I did three different test scenarios. One talking head indoors, which is the normal scenario for many videos I make for this channel. One talking head outdoors to see if the Rode videomicro dead kitten handles the wind well. And one vlog style video recording to the if the Rode videomicro polar patterns can reduce noise from the surroundings. I believe though, that the shotgun polar pattern did come to it's right, because lots of the traffic noise was behind me, and in the same direction as my speech in relation to the camera and microphone position.
Hopefully this review will give you a good idea about the difference between the internal microphone vs external microphone.
