PM-R TV | Sony a7SIII 4K-I Video clip shot Near the Great Smoky Mountains Institute at Tremont shortly at dawn @PMRTV | Uploaded 3 years ago | Updated 14 hours ago
I've been shooting some 4K landscapes lately and I get a lot of pleasure out of it. I have been using exclusively the a7SIII because it captures a much larger 10 bit color space. Editing 10 bit clips is very similar to editing still images because there are 3,000 colors instead of just 750 as in 8 bit. I will likely never shoot anything other than 10 bit video from now on because it is so beautiful. The 4K that comes out of the a7SIII is breathtaking--but keep in mind YouTube stands hard on video clips because of their very harsh compression--I promise these 4:2:2 files look much better than they do here!
I used a Sony a7SIII paired with the do everything lens: the FE24-105mm f/4G. I used an older Bogen/Manfrotto tripod with a cheap video head, and a Neewer carbon fiber collapsable jib arm that I bought for $150 to get this shot. I will post my affiliate links to all of this at the end of this description if you are interested. Once you get it all set up (3-4 min.), you just have to move slowly and deliberately on each move. Once you get the hang of it, you can get "hero" takes pretty fast.
