This clock was initially purchased only because of what came with it .... but ultimately we found the condition to be such that it begged to be refinished and brought back to working condition.

Here's my finishing process:
1. Wash with a mild solution of Dawn dishwashing liquid. I love this stuff because it's tough on grease and oil but rinses clean very easily. Following washing - clock immediately wiped dry, then allowed to dry 48 hrs.
2. Watco Teak Oil - Following the directions - smothered the outside of the case and let it soak 30 mins (not allowing it to dry on the surface), then wiped clean. After about 30 mins I followed with another slathering for 15 minutes, wiped clean then allowed to dry 72 hours. This followed by one more 15 minute treatment, then another 72 hours of cure time.
3. Completed the finish with pure, food grade Mineral oil. This is a light final coat, would not bugger up the stickers, provided beading of water and protection from finger prints.
