Phew! I'm glad to be back and uploading again. This one's the product of hyperfixation, spontaneous excitement, and a continued creative rush. Also, this is one of my most insta-like edits in a while, i think?
Welpie, this idea all started when I had shown this song to my girlfriend, because it was one of my faves at the time, and she mentioned that this is like Sonic's theme song, and i really got inspired by that thought! :D
I Immediately knew i wanted to use that voice over from smash bros in here, so out of excitement, i opened up AE, plopped down the clip of Sonic running in the middle, with that voice over, and a couple effects. I kiinnda had a tone and look in mind for the video, but nothing too specific. I then left this project be, because I was working on a whole bunch of other creative projects (not just videos) to keep myself active. Decided to come back to it another time.
And a couple days ago, I did! i've been feeling in a very big Sonic mood, and my hyperfixation is on Shadow now. Speaking of which, there's just one scene of him here, but let's still keep the title as Sonic, sshhhhh~ XD
And by god, when i started editing, i REALLY got into it XD I knew i wanted to play around with 3d tilting, and this whole idea of inky(?) and digitally damaged footage, hence where the dithering effect comes in. The ink idea kinda got dropped tho. When looking around for tutorials, i stumbled across some ones that gave me an extra burst of motivation, so i spontaneously decided to include those effects in here too. I really enjoyed making that little 3D diamond, plus fiddling around with adding it as an overlay ^^
Was kinda worried that the flow would be weird at one point and that the clips just wouldn't go together, but i think i got something down eventually ^^
There's 3 different Sonic voices in this video XDD
The resolution is ever so slightly stretched because I really wanted to avoid this becoming a short. I tried to fix and adjust the aspect ratio again in places (stretching a composition, and then entering the pre-comp to squish the clip inwards). If i would've realized this would become a short earlier, that could've been avoided ^^'' But oh well, i think the longer I look at it, the less bothersome the stretch feels! In fact, I even think the diamond animation looks better when stretched like this ^^
When trying to decide on what to do for the ending - at first i wanted another clip of Shadow, but then i decided, nah, that's plain. The vibe of the video so far was fun, silly, and had attitude, so i wanted to continue that. Started scrubbing through Boom and then stumbled upon the episode in this video and that little part - it made me giggle so i figured i could use that one. And only afterwards, as i was trying to add effects to it, i got graced with a wonderful bunch of crashing errors from AE, one even apologizing to me and saying that it's about to crash, before prompting me to save this project under a different name lol
So just because i found that so random, like i had ''bested'' AE in this case, i decided to add that little caption at the end, and keep the ending simple XD
I made the diamond overlay after finishing everything here, and i did so in a separate project. I then technically wanted to finish and render this in Vegas. I added every overlay i wanted, plus the diamond with extra effects. But when i rendered it, Vegas had transformed the dither into pixels-
Where After Effects looked like Sharp, readable pixels, Vegas made them more blurry, and I didn't want that at all. So i rendered out just the overlays, then went back and finished this in AE along with some tiny fixes. Had to render this a few times due to the quality and this overlay issue.
All and all, i'm glad i could work on this, and i had fun!

This was another thing that I had seen in an editing challenge, but well, I choose to do these separately, so, yeah.
Basically, you have to edit for 30 minutes with no cheating. Like once time is up, you basically need to stick with what you have.
I think this couldve been so much better, oh god XD
This was also kind of a speed edit for me! XD I was trying to put so much focus into doing stuff asap that I put basically no effort into this, and forgot to do two things that I had wanted to do (bc I briefly thought about what I could do with an edit like this, yesterday) - add a clip that I had Twixtored previously, from this movie, and add more shakes XD I did little to no checking, regarding what I was doing, so seeing the video being played was a bit of a surprise for me. Only then did I realize that I added one kind of shake to the clips, and, oh god, this just, it looks so wrong to me! XD No shakes, no zooms (except that one I added), no blurs, flashes are missed out for the most part - it just feels so inactive and its not a part of my style, and it doesnt feel riiiight XD But eh, I had a time limit - guess I cant do everything in 30 minutes XD
If I wouldve had more time, I wouldve added all of those things, plus some more and different text effects, and maybe an overlay, and Id definitely fix up the coloring XD
This is also inspired by an edit that I started making last year, but its still not done by this point XD
I really only went with the one song that clicked with me, while I was looking through my downloaded songs, and deciding what song to use for this edit XD
I also didnt know if this counted as cheating or not, but I imported all of the stuff first and then started the timer XD
I think I forgot to disable the resample tho, so uh, crap XD
...What I do wish tho, was that I couldve put some kind of 30 minute time limit on the render time, bc this took 2 hours and 7 minutes to render, which I think is absolutely unnecessary for something this simple XD
I tried to go into Vegas Pro 15, hoping that would speed the render time, for whatever reason? It didnt XD So yeah XD

Oh and I also watched episode one of 5Ds today - it was actually pretty good OWO Random, I know XD
Cant wait to get to episode 14 bc apparently thats when Aki first appears XD

Welp, this is my part for Diaha Studios MEP ^^
Im glad I could be a part of this great MEP ^^
Im rather happy with the result of my part. Although it was hard for me to find clips at one point, I finally found some eventually.
I think I wasnt able to find one clip that I wanted to use, so I used smth else instead, but ye, I feel like that clip still looks nice.
I was aiming for a dynamic and badass feel - well, like the theme I had to stick to - and I feel like I captured that pretty well, tbh.
Im quite happy with this part in general. This might actually be one of my first MEP parts that Im *actually* happy with?
I generally feel like a time limit can limit my creativity, but what helped me here was the fact that I could edit with media that I generally enjoy and am quick at using, which is YGO media.
Welp, one of the parts that Im def happiest with is the part where the drop starts and 0:13 to the end. But as I said, Im generally happy with this whole thing.
I believe this also rendered really quickly, so Im also happy about that.

Alt + bonus title: You know how much you need to like a project to revive it-?
This was a project that was originally started in late (October of?) 2019, and, in fact (if it may surface onto youtube one day) you will be able to find the original beta of this video in an unfinished video dump that I am yet to still upload/make public at the moment.
Originally this was, I believe, started from feeling hype about wanting to watch this show (still have only watched one episode- XD), and this being my favorite song at the time - really wanted to put the two together! However, after setting clips and some effects and text effects, I left the video sitting for over a year, and, in the process of cleaning up my hard drive to, at the time, prepare for getting the pc I have now - i cleaned out absolutely everything I didnt in some way see myself continuing in the near future; including this video.
However, out of every video I had added to my unfinished video dump, this one was the one i felt the most sad about not keeping, somehow. It was something about how the flow was looking and how something about the vibe of this song just really resonated with me and this mixture of Tamaki. This year, i decided, heck it, if I am once again starting to love this song and i cant think of anything else besides this anime when listening to it, i might as well revive this edit! :o
And what a good choice that was!! I started off by downloading new clips again of course, bc i no longer had access to this project or the clips (found em on internet archive now - thanks to the uploader!). Setting the clips back down was easy - one thing i did change tho is instead of making my video 16:9, i edited in the original 4:3 aspect ratio of the anime.
The part that had the most effects added to it was the bang bang section, (which, fun fact, i included the original 2019 version of the beta in the background of 0:11!), and a part of me felt insecure about changing my original animations too much, as what i saw in the beta felt so very tied to how i saw the song; it felt weird to deviate from it. But i did, and in the process i developed an interesting way to edit - animating effects frame by frame (incrementing movements by only 1-2 frames, and using a mixture of fast and smooth keyframes) - this was quite new to me, as it felt like i was technically sculpting out exactly how i wanted something to move, instead of using big increments. I largely relied on creative feeling and flow :3 Also, for typography, took the approach of hey these letters in the words are the same, what if we try something with that? ^^
I originally made the gun animation for the bang bang part in AE, which i also returned to do here. And then i also brought out illustrator to create the love in automatic and loves electric magic text, and animated that in AE!
Heck, i was so inspired to make this, that I even edited text ideas for this project while at some point away from home, and on my laptop XD i did actually use what I made in this video! the shoot shoot and its automatic text was made on my laptop and then carried over ^^
For the loop, i decided to get a bit funky. I really wanted to include a bit of the original video in there, so i did for the bang bang part.
When it came to that part in the loop too, i had the random thought of opening RE4R and recording myself shooting something, and including it in this video - and i rolled with it XD I chose not to include any close-ups of the zombies when adding footage, bc viewers of this kind of edit arent here to see anything potentially shocking like that. (Fun fact! That footage was recorded before the adding, and then subsequent removal of the Enigma DRM, in the game :O)
Aaand i also added a gradual vhs effect on top of the loop to fit with the increasing distortion of the guitar!
The clips starting from 0:16 and onwards werent present in the original, i added those for this remake ^^
Overall very happy with the result of this and Im glad that i was able to bring this project to life again ^^

I rendered this yesterday - this is a project that originally actually crashed my old laptop when rendering. But really, just watching it like this...it looks horribly simple.
In fact I questioned whether or not this is even worth uploading, but welp, here we are now.
The reason why youre seeing Old AE edit remake in the title and not seeing another video similar to this on my channel is because this video started life with completely different media - MCR media, to be precise, and in fact, it was the last project I had ever made with that media. (Idk if theres a point in me adding this into the title if yall havent seen the original, but okay) However, it also crashed my old laptop, and the file later on just became corrupted(?) and I had to convert it from a AE CS6 project to a CC 2018 project.
I had deleted the old video I had pre-rendered in Vegas by that point, so I attempted to add some random media in order to revive the project a little, but simply by replacing the single composition that was there. I couldnt go back to fix the fact that it crashed my laptop bc I had already pre-composed the project and- well, maybe I couldve went back to some majestic autosave at the time, to fix this, but I didnt do that.
Some months later - maybe two - I decided to start this project all over again with new media - putting the clips and Twixtor together on Vegas - and with no reference project to look at because I figured that there was no point in keeping a mess that was the original project. After some more months, I finally finished this video, and after adding MBL it made my old laptop severely lag when playing the video back, and it just crashed again when I tried to render. I think, at the time it showed that there was 1 hour and 30 minutes left to render? So yeah, from that point, I just decided to render this when I get a new laptop. And so I did, yesterday, in about 4-5 minutes. I quite like how Media Encoder works, its pretty easy to understand and use, and I really like how small the file sizes are.
Oh, and some more info about this project: I started this in, I think, September of 2017.
And my reasoning for calling the project this was bc it was, I believe, past midnight already, or around midnight, when I started this project, and I was still feeling ready for staying up to edit this, and I finished it in the same night, but then I had those problems, as you read.
I suppose theres not much else to say about this. I didnt add a watermark so it doesnt mess up the look of this.

Yaaalll! Its been a couple years since the last video i made as a thank you, but now my channel has reached 500 subs, which is quite a long way, and i wanted to give you all a proper video to thank you! c:

These text presets and colorings can be found in a .veg (Vegas Pro) project file that ive linked below! No extra footage downloading is required, the text presets are added on sample text, and the coloring effects are added into text layers that state the coloring number, in the fx window.
As stated in the video, this project only works/opens with Vegas Pro 18 or higher, but i can make a version for a slightly older build - Vegas Pro 14, upon request.
I havent made variants for After Effects - the text preset cannot be remade in AE without putting in some more time and effort, but the MBL colorings could be ported over and added as a separate file here upon request as well.
I will only add these if i see that some people would like to see versions like this as well.

About making this little pack! x3
It took me a little back and forth to figure out what id wanna share with yall, and then i realized - ive noticed that yall have expressed quite a bit of interest in my text and typography in the past, so i figured that itd be cool if id add some text packs that i had created before uwu Both of the text effects that you see have been used in my recent-ish Bakura edit! Some small adjustments have been made to them here tho ^^
Theres a lot that caaan go into text-making or typography for me sometimes; font choice, font pairing, position, blend mode and so on, but i think adding two little animations could be nice for those who are interested in these particular effects x3
For colorings, i went with colorings that i have in really old (2-3 year old) or recent-ish projects that i dont know when will see the light of day, some are inspired by songs, and the last one is from one of my MEP parts- XD If yall remember my Numb MEP part,,, that was the coloring i used for it- XD one version of it, anyways!
I also didnt know what song to use for this at first, i wanted something happy and exciting tho, and after scrolling through one of my playlists, i stumbled across this gem of a song again, this little bop XD
And i decided to make this viddie a bit random and fun too, to give it more of a, fun vibe? x3 I added lyrics for most of the chorus bc i had the spontaneous idea to, and i was just absolutely vibing with this song while editing this together uwu And!!! I had the random idea of adding that scene of Bakura dancing with Yugis grandpa at the end bc i started to envision that scene when hearing the beat a couple times uwu

So yes, i think thats the main of what i wanted to say! ^w^

Feeling quite happy with this one, actually!
The inspiration for this one came to me after seeing previews that my girlfriend sent to me of her newest mmd (definitely recommend that yall check it out, by the way!), and I figured that I could also try out the Mic Drop motion in particular.
I started this yesterday, and I didnt quite know what stage I wanted to use, and when I finally thought I found one, I couldnt get the lighting with Raycast to work right. I decided to briefly try switching to another stage but nothing worked there either so then I just gave up for the day, as I was starting to feel a little frustrated.
And then today, I was playing around with shaders, and I tried out the NCHL shader, and didnt really know how to get the model to be lighter, so I started randomly changing accessory values, and I happened to get a very nice pink/purple and blue neon look on Bakuras model, which I was actually WANTED to achieve the other day! And so, then I began to feel more confident again, and from there it kinda took off, and I was able to complete this eventually ^^
This is also the first time I tried changing between stages, and I think also animating effects?
Rendering and converting this didnt take that long either, which is good!
The only thing is that I couldnt decide if the saturation of the color is too much, or not ^^ So then I didnt wanna cram too too much onto this, to really make it a mess and whatnot.
Aaaand, I suppose thats all I wanna say about this!
