Sonic 3 & Knuckles | Sonic/Tails Full Game Pt. 2/2
Now to tackle the other side of things.
Something to note is that Sonic 3 only had six zones and the original plans were going to be 14. Made no better by the fact that if you access the Level Select, you would find three additional zones that were cut: Flying Battery, Mushroom Valley and Sandopolis. This is a clear indication that the game was rushed out. I already stated that because of this, the original Sonic 3 had a plethora of glitches and the reasoning for them were utter BS. Fortunately when the add-on/game Sonic & Knuckles was released eight months later, many of these were fixed. But it was very wild you know.
Anyway, this part centers on the Sonic & Knuckles side. Of course if you were to play it by itself, you start at Mushroom Hill Zone. Of course we also do get Knuckles' story start but you guys won't be seeing it here. Oh and since this is Sonic 3 & Knuckles, this is where you have to do 7 more special stages to get your hands on seven Super Emeralds. Super Emeralds are basically Chaos Emeralds that have been blessed by the Master Emerald. Collecting all 7 will allow Sonic or Knuckles to become Hyper Knuckles. For Tails though, he becomes Super Tails. The reason for that is mostly due to his young age and requiring both Chaos & Super Emeralds to control this form. Hyper Sonic is basically Sonic as a god. Double tapping jump lets Sonic defeat any nearby enemies. At least the Super Emeralds do make a reappearance in Sonic Mania as hollowed-out shells, having fulfilled their purpose.
Of course once all is said and done, Sonic & Tails defeat Eggman and return the Master Emerald to Knuckles. This allows Angel Island to soar up to the skies, setting up the other half of this story mode. See you for when I do Knuckles' story in this game.
