I'm sick of WH4 so here is an even worse level. This is among the worst ILs in the game alongside LM4/DR2. They're not 'hard' but, they are simply stupid (and/or boring) to get the time down on.
The problem with this level is the pinball minigame you need to complete in order to proceed in the level. If you are going for sub 52, it is completely up to luck as to whether you get it (not to be confused with RNG). I feel like some sort of setup could be found using pause buffering to do precise inputs. The problem with this is finding it. I can't test all the possibilities by hand. A setup feels required for sub 52 unless you want to simply brute force it. I have had attempts that were stupidly close but, they are pretty much impossible to replicate intentionally.
The strat that I hope will work on the pinball table, at best, seems to allow for low 52 times. This is not consistent at all. It is possible to clip into bumpers by shaking the table the frame before you collide with the bumper. Doing this will result in sonic bouncing around inside the bumper while racking up points (only up to 1000 or so before it stops giving more). After sonic bounces around for ideally 700 points, I hope that he bounces straight into the middle hoop for the last 800 points. This has pretty much never happened optimally for me.
Basically, this level is stupid.
